Legal Interests: Over the past two years at Maine Law, I served as the Co-Chair of the Maine Association for Public Interest Law (MAPIL), Co-Chair of the Maine Law Policy Group (MLPG), and Liaison between the New Lawyers Section (NLS) of the Maine State Bar Association (MSBA). In addition, I am pursuing a dual Juris Doctor at Maine Law and Masters in Public Health at the University of Southern Maine’s Muskie School of Public Service.

I wrote a Comment about the Maine Board of Licensure in Medicine (the “Board”) and how, arguably, it does not provide medical licensees enough due process. First, I compared the due process afforded to medical licensees as to other licensees, such as automobile licensed drivers. I argued that while a medical licensee does not facing criminal sanctions when before the Board, the licensee is facing criminal-like sanctions – such as having his or her licenses revoked – and because of such, the Board should afford a licensee comparable due process to that afforded to an accused criminal. Second, I argued that because of the Board’s multi-role as investigator, prosecutor, judge, and jury, the licensee is not afforded sufficient due process. Accordingly, in large part, I recommended that the Board, in addition to many other administrative boards in Maine, should adopt a central panel system.

My role as Editor-in-Chief of the Maine Law Review is to oversee all processes involved with publishing Volume 70 of the Maine Law Review. I help facilitate article selection, technical components, and the staff members’ writing requirements. I am grateful that I have a wonderful and dedicated Executive Team, Editorial Board, and Staff Members who have ensured and continue to ensure that MLR is running seamlessly.
